Alex Rowan- Instructor
Alex started dancing at the University of Michigan with world class coaches Steve and Susan McFerran, and quickly made his mark in the dancing scene. He won collegiate competitions across the Midwest, including the Ohio Star Ball's Collegiate Standard Division. He and his partner, Anastasia Alekseyeva, graduated and went on to compete at the highest level for amateurs in the U.S. They placed as finalists in both the International Standard and Latin open divisions, as well as won the Pre-Championship Smooth category at USA National Dancesport Championships in 2010, before going to dance overseas.
After teaching and performing throughout Japan in 2010 and 2011, Alex has returned to Michigan to continue his dancing career. He aspires to spread the joy of dancing to new dancers, convinced that with the right teacher anyone can learn to feel confident dancing. Alex considers taking that leap-of-faith and giving dancing a try was one of the best decisions of his life.
